WP700 User Community Involvement & Dissemination

The general objective of the work package is to ensure an effective dialogue between the food chainmembers representing the “user community” and ICT community representing the “solution providers” fordeveloping such domain specific capabilities and conceptual prototypes which meet the current and futureneeds of the different stakeholders of the food chain with innovative solutions provided by the future internet.This activity includes also making the new knowledge on food chain specific internet based capabilities andconceptual prototypes available to a broad community of potential users from all parts of the food chain.

•  to identify the future long and short term needs of the food industry for ICT solutions based on theadvanced capabilities of the Future Internet and make the ICT community aware of these needs;
•  to identify the potential capabilities of the new internet and make the user community aware of thesecapabilities;
•  to organise a systematic exchange of views between the two sides for developing a harmonised view onwhich specification of requirements and conceptual prototypes can be based;
• to convert the available and newly developed knowledge on capabilities and potential solutions of predicted functions of internet into an easily understandable format for food businesses, particularly SMEs and distribute and transfer this knowledge to a wide range of food chain members.
